The Jerome varsity softball team opened the season on March 10 by splitting a double-header with Preston. Jerome dropped game one 7-1 before coming back to win the nightcap 10-8. Preston’s pitcher kept the Tiger bats relatively quiet in game one. The only exceptions were senior Cailee Bartholomew who went 3 for 3 in the first game and senior Courtney Argyle who went 2 for 2. Argyle picked up the loss in game one. The Tiger offense got rolling in game two where Jerome knocked out 11 hits. Senior Taylor Harrison was the winning pitcher and also had two doubles and three RBIs. Senior Ashley Wiest also had a double and two RBIs. Argyle picked up the save in game two.
The Tigers are back in action at Forsyth field on Saturday, March 12, at 11 and 1 when they host Madison and Bonneville.
