The Jerome Lady Tigers took two of three from Wood River in the conference opener for both teams March 31 and April 1.
Jerome softball beat Wood River 15-14 at home on March 31. The Tigers scored 6 runs in the bottom of the seventh to win the game. Isabella Birnie had the game winning RBI. Courtney Argyle led the Tigers with two doubles and a HR while Kailey Harrison went 5 for 5 with two doubles and a triple. Taylor Harrison was 3-5 with a double and was the winning pitcher.
Jerome softball split the double header in Wood River on April 1 dropping the first game 21-17 before coming back to win the second game 17-2 in 3 innings.
Taylor Harrison, Courtney Argyle, Ashley Wiest, and Cailee Bartholomew each had 3 hits in game one. Baylie Somerset and Argyle had home runs for the Tigers and Abigail Craig had four RBIs.
The Tigers bounced back in game two hammering out 15 hits in three innings. Argyle and Tiffany Bryant each went 3 for 3 in the game and Bryant had a home run and 6 RBIs. Wiest also hit a home run in game two and was the winning pitcher.
The Tigers could never get going in their next series against a strong Canyon Ridge squad dropping all three games. Jerome is now 5-6 on the season and 2-4 in conference play. The Tigers begin a three game series with Burley on April 13th with a home double header beginning at 3pm.
