Tiger Softball Completes Sweep of Minico

The Tigers beat Minico 20-13 Monday night in a makeup from and earlier rainout to sweep the season series.  The Tigers knocked out 17 hits in the game and were led by Ashley Wiest’s 4 for 4 performance.  Courtney Argyle, Emily Bragg and Abigail Craig each had 3 hits in the game.  The Tigers open the Great Basin Conference Tournament on Saturday against the Spartans.

Previous Story:  The Jerome Tiger softball team took two from Minico on Friday night, beating the Spartans 17-2 and 9-7.  The Tigers knocked out 4 home runs in the first game, which last only 3 innings due to the run rule.  Courtney Argyle was 2-2 with two home runs and 5 RBI.  Taylor Harrison was also 2-2 with a double and a home run and 6 RBI.  Ashley Wiest had the other home run for the Tigers.
Game two was much closer with the Tigers coming back from a 7-4 deficit in 4th inning to take the win.  Harrison, Argyle, and Wiest each had multiple hits in game two.
The third game of the series, scheduled for Saturday in Minico was rained out.  A makeup date has not been announced.
